Saskatchewan PNP targets 280 skilled worker immigration candidates in new draw.jpg

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited 280 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on July 21.

The SINP invited candidates who may be eligible for a nomination from the International Skilled Worker category. Of the 280 invited, 84 invitations were issued to candidates from the Express Entry sub-category of the SINP, and 196 invites through the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.

Regardless of the stream, all invited candidates were required to meet the minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 77. All candidates also needed an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to show their foreign education is comparable to the Canadian standard.

The SINP also required candidates to have work experience in one of 63 in-demand occupations. See below for the National Occupational Codes (NOCs) that were included in this draw.

NOCs: 0013, 0014, 0016, 0114, 0121, 0132, 0421, 0423, 0621, 0651, 0711, 0712, 0821, 0911, 1121, 1122, 1123, 1214, 1215, 1221, 1222, 1224, 1241, 1243, 1252, 2131, 2142, 2144, 2151, 2212, 2223, 2225, 2231, 2232, 2241, 2242, 2253, 2262, 2263, 3143, 3211, 3234, 4152, 4156, 4161, 4162, 4164, 4165, 4166, 4167, 4169, 4212, 4216, 6316, 6344, 7231, 7237, 7241, 7243, 7246, 7294, 8255, 9232.

The Occupations In-Demand sub-category is a base Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) which means it is open to immigration candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile. This stream is for skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan, and who do not yet have a job offer in the province. Interested candidates need to create an EOI profile through the SINP’s online application system.

The SINP’s Express Entry sub-category is linked to the federal Express Entry system which means it is an enhanced PNP. Interested immigration candidates with Express Entry profiles need to also create EOI profiles for Saskatchewan. Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from a PNP are automatically given 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score at the federal level. This effectively guarantees candidates for an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
