Ontario PNP invites 986 Express Entry Skilled Trades candidates in new draw
Ontario invited 986 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on June 1.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited candidates who may be eligible for the Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream.
Candidates had Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging between 300 and 379. Invited candidates were required to have submitted their profiles between June 1, 2020 and June 1, 2021.
If invited candidates receive the provincial nomination from Ontario, they will receive an automatic 600 points added to their CRS score. This will effectively guarantee the candidate to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a future Express Entry draw.
Candidates now have 45 calendar days to apply for the provincial nomination.
The Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) that offers a pathway to permanent residency for candidates in the Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Program. The OINP holds draws and invited eligible candidates to apply for a provincial nomination.
Interested candidates must create a profile in the Express Entry stream to be considered for a provincial nomination.
To be eligible, candidates need to be currently living in Ontario and have at least one (1) year of fill-time work experience, or the part-time equivalent. Candidates must complete the work experience in the province in a skilled trade listed in Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72, 73, or 82 under the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
A job offer is not required for candidates to have to apply under the Skilled Trades Stream. However, candidates must meet all the mandatory federal and provincial requirements.
