Alberta invited 200 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on April 6.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) issued 200 Notification of Interest (NOI) Letters to Express Entry candidates to apply for the Alberta Express Entry System.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that candidates needed to receive a NOI was 302. This is one point more than the previous two (2) draws.

To receive an invitation in Alberta’s new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, candidates needed to have a profile in the federal Express Entry system.

Since Express Entry candidates receive 600 addition points toward their CRS score once they receive a provincial nomination, the lowest-scoring candidates in this draw now have a CRS score of 902.

Alberta’s Express Entry stream is an enhanced PNP for Express Entry candidates who have strong ties to the province, or who can support the government’s economic development and diversification priorities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Alberta is only considering candidates who are already living and working in the province.

Candidates need to have work experience in an eligible occupation, the AINP has provided the public only with a list of ineligible occupations for the stream requirements.

The AINP usually sets a maximum amount of provincial nomination allocations that they may issue in a given year, however that number has not been released for 2021.
