Ontario PNP holds Tech Draw inviting 528 Express Entry candidates
Ontario invited 528 Express Entry immigration candidates with tech experience to apply for a provincial nomination on April 13.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates who may be eligible for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream. Candidates needed to have a profile in the federal Express Entry system.
Invited candidates needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 456 and 467. As well, candidates needed at least one (1) year of work experience in one of six tech specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes.
The specific NOC codes that Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) targeted were:
- NOC 0213: computer and information systems managers.
- NOC 2147: computer engineers.
- NOC 2172: database analysts and data administrators.
- NOC 2173: software engineers and designers.
- NOC 2174: computer programmer and interactive media developers.
- NOC 2175: web designers and developers.
Applications could be refused if a candidate does not demonstrate work experience in one of the eligible NOC codes listed.
Candidates with foreign education may have to submit an Educational Credential Assessment so Ontario can verify that their education is equivalent to a Canadian Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
Those who received an NOI have forty-five (45) calendar days to submit their application to the OINP.
Candidates needed to have created Express Entry profiles in the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) pool between April 13, 2020 and April 13, 2021.
This was Ontario’s second Tech Draw of 2021. In the first draw, over 1,100 candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination.
