Ontario invites 1,186 Express Entry candidates to apply in recent Tech draw
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited 1,186 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination in a draw held on February 16, 2021. Invited candidates had work experience in the tech sector, in one (1) of six (6) designated occupations, to apply for a provincial nomination.
Invitations were sent to candidates who may be eligible for a nomination through the Human Capital Priorities stream. The OINP issued invitations to Express Entry candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores between 453 and 467.
Invited candidates need to demonstrate that they have eligible work experience in one of the six (6) targeted occupations, to get a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nomination. The six (6) occupations are the following:
- NOC 0213 – Computer and information systems managers;
- NOC 2147 – Computer engineers;
- NOC 2172 – Database analysts and data administrators;
- NOC 2173 – Software engineers and designers;
- NOC 2174 – Computer programmer and interactive media developers; or
- NOC 2175 – Web designers and developers.
This is the first Tech draw by Ontario of the year. This draw resulted in the largest proportion of all the Express Entry linked PNP nominations that Ontario issued in 2020.
Invited candidates have 45 calendar days to submit their application for the PNP to receive a nomination.
Those that receive a nomination from Ontario will automatically receive 600 CRS points toward their overall score.
