Canada sends out all selected PGP 2020 invitations to apply.jpg

All selected invitations to apply (ITAs) have been sent out for the 2020 Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) lottery. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the lottery ten (10) days ago and has been sending out ITAs since. Invitations were issued to sponsors of parents and grandparents who submitted an Interest to Sponsor form in the application period in 2020.

IRCC urges potential sponsors who submitted sponsorship applications who have not received an invitation, to check their junk mail or check their status on the IRCC website. Selected potential sponsors have sixty (60) days to submit a complete application to be eligible to sponsor their parents or grandparents. If you are needing assistance to complete your application, there are forms and tips on the IRCC website to guide you.

Since the amount of people who were interested in the 2020 PGP out numbered the amount of people who received ITAs, IRCC encourages those not selected to apply again in 2021. Only 10,000 applications were selected in the 2020 PGP, but Canada plans to issue up to 30,000 invitations in the 2021 PGP. IRCC ensures that the PGP draws are lottery based and has a randomized selection process. Any duplicate submissions are removed to allow equal opportunity for all candidates.
