Canada invites 4,750 CEC Candidates in new Express Entry draw
IRCC held an Express Entry draw yesterday, the second invitation round this week. A total of 4,750 invitations were issued to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. Individuals needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 461 to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
This is the second draw of 2020, both of which were program specific draws.
The CEC is a category made by the IRCC for foreign workers who want to become permanent residents in Canada. The program was created to allow temporary foreign workers and international students a pathway to earn permanent residency in Canada. Successful CEC candidates do not need to show IRCC they have funds to support themselves financially when they receive their permanent resident status.
To be eligible for the CEC you must have completed at least one year of skilled, professional, or technical work experience in Canada within 36 months of first applying. The candidate must have work experience for at least 1,560 hours of work in Canada, earned through full-time and/or part-time work. Additionally, you must meet or exceed a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 5. Candidates must plan to live and work in Canada, except in Quebec due to different regulations.
